The whole point of the blog is to add value through content. The blogosphere is wonderland for its ability to deliver content at no frills. Nevertheless hoping a friend finds your blog is like finding a needle in a hay stack. The need for branding is still real indeed. For many entrepreneurs like me, blogging is a highly effective low cost marketing tool. But you have to bear in mind that is not for everyone. in accordance with Debbie Weil author of the Corporate Blogging Book (2010 Updated Edition) you should start blogging if... 1.- Not plugging the company, you only plan to blog about everything except your company. 2.-You can commit to posting at least three times a month..The ideal frequency to be at least once a week. 3.- Your blog isn't part of a larger social media strategy: A blog is the hub of social media strategy, but you need outposts to drive the traffic back to your hub. So that means you'd do well to hop on Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube as well. |
