Request for proposal, |
A request for proposal (referred to as RFP) is an invitation for suppliers. I am now writing down a RFP regarding multilateration mode S. The main benefit of multilateration implementation will be a "state of the art" surface traffic surveillance that would help the controller to avoid accidents and incidents.
My company is going to award the project based upon cost, the former argument suffice to be careful when crafting and reviewing the RFP before distributing it to vendors. When writing the RFP I try to avoid intimidating language and behavior. By two important reasons, the first one: I keep in mind that this year I may be the "boss," but next year, I may be asking them for a job. The former: A Few years ago I played the role of the vendor, and I was in charge of preparing answers to RFP's and I didn't like penalty clauses and threats. |
